Pre-Season Winter Block - Road to ATP 2026
The first phase of the winter pre-season for the 2026 ATP season of Moez Echargui has come to a close, carried out alongside the full team at the high-performance training centre MXP Tennis Academy, based at the Tennis Club Quanta Village in Milan.
The Tennis Club Quanta Village serves as the operational base for Moez Echargui. During this period, we completed an intensive ten-day training block, working alongside the other coaches, the strength and conditioning coach, and the team osteopath. The goal was to consolidate technical, tactical, and physical aspects, aligning with the previously established technical plan and building a solid foundation for the entire season.
These days were highly productive. The technical work, led by coach Paolo Moretti, followed a meticulous, detailed, and targeted approach, focusing on areas identified from the previous season as priorities for improvement. Progress is already visible: strokes are stronger, cleaner, and more effective, confirming that the direction taken is correct.
The first real test will be the Brisbane tournament, taking place the week of January 5th, where Moez will compete in an ATP 250 event, before moving on to Melbourne to play the qualifying rounds of the 2026 Australian Open. These competitions will be key to assessing the effectiveness of the work carried out during this preparation phase.
During our time in Milan, we had the privilege of sharing the facility with high-level players such as Mattia Bellucci (ATP n.72), Luca Potenza (ATP n.360), and several other top 700 players, creating a stimulating and competitive training environment.
For me, these were ten days of significant professional value, spent in close collaboration with coaches Paolo Moretti, Marco Brigo, and strength and conditioning coach Luca Zampieri, with daily exchanges enriching the work on and off the court.
A crucial role was also played by Matteo Inginioli, the team osteopath. Following an initial physical assessment, Matteo monitored the athlete twice a week, tracking progress and adaptations to the gym work, in close coordination with the strength and conditioning coach.
A special thanks goes to my dear friend Fabio Chiappini, head coach of MXP Tennis Academy, and to the entire staff, for their professionalism and the high quality of work delivered during this first phase of preparation.
Currently, Moez is in Dubai with coach Marco Brigo, completing two weeks of training, before departing for Brisbane on December 27th with coach Paolo Moretti, ahead of the first official tournament of the season.
Good luck, guys! The work continues.
